ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) is a common neurodevelopmental disorder that affects millions of people all over the world. ADHD is a chronic condition that typically begins in childhood and can continue into adulthood.

  1. Inattentive Presentation: People may have trouble paying attention to details, following instructions and organising tasks.
  2. Hyperactive-Impulsive Presentation: Individuals may exhibit hyperactivity and impulsivity, such as fidgeting, excessive talking and difficulty waiting their turn.
  3. Combined Presentation: A combination of inattentive and hyperactive-impulsive symptoms.

Persons with moderate or severe levels of the disorder can’t just try harder or decide to get organised but consistent daily routine can help manage time and tasks more effectively. Breaking down large tasks into smaller ones can help manage steps and make them less overwhelming. Using planners, calendars and reminder apps can help keep track of tasks and deadlines.


Here are a couple of ideas:

  • Healthy Diet: A balanced diet rich in nutrients can support overall brain health and improve focus.
  • Exercise: Regular physical activity can help reduce hyperactivity and improve concentration.
  • Sleep: Ensuring adequate sleep is crucial for managing ADHD symptoms and maintaining overall well-being.

While ADHD can present challenges you can embrace it as a strength. Many people with this disorder also possess unique strengths, such as creativity, high energy and the ability to think “outside the box”. By focusing on these strengths and implementing effective management strategies, individuals with ADHD can achieve their goals and lead successful, fulfilling lives.
